PARTICIPANTS
All athletes that are selected by the ITKF’s member National Federations to compete must fulfill the following conditions:

1. They must be a citizen of the represented country (must provide proof of citizenship at tournament site accreditation, i.e. personal passport issued by represented
country, etc.).

2. They must have ITKF registered black belt (Sho Dan or higher).

3. They must know, fully understand and be able to compete to a competent standard with the ITKF competition rules.

4. They must be free of any physical or mental handicap so as not to cause difficulties in the competition in accordance with the ITKF rules.

5. For the following competition categories only, an athlete may decide to participate to the higher age category:
- En-bu (man/man and mixte)
- Kata (Individual and team)
Remarks:
A) An athlete can participate one time only to a same competition category. }
B) Please note that an athlete deciding to participate to a higher age category for the above listed competition categories will be able to participate to the other competition categories in his/her own age category only.

6. All Kumite, Ko-Go and Fuku-Go athletes are obliged to wear the official ITKF Kumite gloves in accordance with ITKF rules. For medical safety, gloves cannot be shared between athletes. Mouth (tooth) guards are also mandatory to be worn. (breast –protection for women, groin protector for men are optional, but recommended safety equipment). 

7. All competitors must have an international insurance assumed by their respective national federations.
